Lovely Professional University Jalandhar Opens PhD Admission

Lovely Professional University (LPU), Jalandhar, a leading private university in Punjab, is conducting National Entrance and Scholarship Test (LPUNEST) for PhD aspirants in July 2022.  Both Part Time and Full Time PhD Admission is available for more than 43 subjects.  

Teaching Fellowship:  LPU also offers Teaching Fellowship to full time Research Scholars. Preference will be given to NET/GATE/GPAT qualified candidates and Research Scholars having previous teaching and research experience. The teaching fellowship awardee will be paid an honorarium of Rs. 15,600/ per month (consolidated). The Research scholar is required to take teaching load of minimum six credits.

Result of LPUNEST (PhD) – 15 July 2022

Eligibility Criteria (Qualifying Exam):

Master’s degree in the relevant discipline with 55% marks in aggregate

5% relaxation to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer) / differently-abled candidates

Applicants having relevant Post Graduation degree in Engineering are only allowed to apply for the Ph.D. in engineering disciplines. e.g. applicants with M.Tech/ME in CSE would apply for PhD( CSE), and applicants with MCA or M.Sc. (CS/IT) degree should apply for PhD (Computer Applications).

Exemption from Entrance Test: Applicants who have qualified UGC (NET/ JRF)/ CSIR / ICAR/ examination/Other National Fellowships Examinations  or passed MPhil Programme (in Regular mode only)

Exemption is for LPUNEST (PhD) only but the applicant will have to fill the LPUNEST (Ph.D.) form and appear for the Interview. The applicants are required to bring the original documents against which exemption is sought at the time of interview.

GATE/GPAT score should be valid at the time of admission.

Selection Criteria:

An applicant will be short listed for interview on the basis of his/ her score in the entrance examination LPUNEST (Ph.D.).

The final selection for admission in Ph.D. will be based on the performance in Entrance Test (70% weightage) and Interview (30% weightage) subject to scoring minimum marks in the Interview.

However if anyone is exempted from LPUNEST (Ph.D.) entrance test, then 100% weightage will be given to Interview only.
