Foundation to promote art & awareness for the work of Benode Behari Mukherjee, Leela Mukherjee and Mrinalini Mukherjee.
About the Grant
Mrinalini Mukherjee Foundation (MMF), in collaboration with Peoples’ Archive of Rural India (PARI), invites applications for MMF-PARI Fellowships 2022 – 2023. MMF-PARI Fellowships 2022-2023 will support three projects and the fellows’ projects will be published on the PARI website (ruralindiaonline.org) over a period of a year.
The project proposed for this grant will need to have a clear focus on Arts and Crafts from Rural India. Taking cues from PARI’s stories on “Things we make” which looks at the work of artists, artisans and craftspersons, the proposal can focus on one or more of the following:
- Living arts and crafts traditions
- Social and cultural contexts of artisanal communities
- Evolving language of arts and crafts in contemporary contexts
- The role of technology in the lives of artisans and their practices
- Public forums for engagement with arts (festivals, rituals and ceremonies)
- Material innovations and collaborations
As outcome of the project, the fellow will submit 8 to 10 multi-media stories that will be published on PARI. To know more about the types of stories check the PARI Guidelines (https://ruralindiaonline.org/en/pages/guidelines/)
An amount of Rs 200,000 will be awarded as the fellowship grant in installments of Rs 25,000 over the year from the start of the project.
These fellowships are open only to Indian citizens above the age of 18yrs.
