India army scholarship: for students

AGI launched scholarship for 24% of Army wards studying in Army Professional Colleges wef AY 2011-12.
 
901 scholarships @ Rs 40,000 pa/head – Rs 3.6 Cr wef AY 2011-12 to those students who meet QRs.
 
DLF Raghvendra Scholarship
 
Intro wef AY 2011-12 in AIMK, AIT and ACMS for two students each institute. Scholarship @ Rs 50,000 for MBA and Rs 40,000 for undergraduates.
 
Presently three for AIT and two each for AIMK & ACMS being given.
 
TATA Scholarships. TATA Gp of Industries instituted merit scholarships to students standing 1st and 2nd (@ Rs 25000/- and Rs 15000/- respectively) in AIT, AIMK, AIMT, AIHM&CT and AIL. Not applicable for final year.
 
ESSA
 
Scholarships are being awarded to the wards of serving Army personnel studying in Govt/Private recognised educational institutions from IX to PG level of education provided the wards have not attained 25 years of age before completion of the class.
 
Based on Cut-off percentages of marks decided every year during Annual General Meeting of ESSA for all classes and categories of personnel.
 
Merit certificates are also awarded alongwith the scholarships.
 
Rates of scholarships revised from academic year 2010-11 per annum as under :-
 
IX to XII – Rs 1500/-
Graduation Level – Rs 2500/-
PG/Professional Courses – Rs 6000/-
 
Last date for receipt of applications – 30 Nov ever yr.

ENTITLEMENTS– VEER NARIES/ WIDOWS / ESM
 
Veer Naries.
 
Benefits from Central/State Govts and Liberalised Family Pension to cater education as well.
 
Education for children of Veer Naries fully subsidised by AG’s (CW-3 / R&W Sec).
 
Full reimbursement of tuition fee, tpt, hostel ch.Cost of books/stationary @ Rs 1000/- p.a per student.Cost of uniform where compulsory upto Rs 1700/- for 1st yr and Rs 700 for subsequent yearr.Cost of clo @ Rs 500/- for 1st yr and Rs 300 for subsequent year.Edn concession upto and incl of 1st degree course.
Specially Abled Wards.
 
No tuition fee is charged by any of CBSE Affiliated schools and Army Public Schools as well from special/disabled children.
 
Instrs issued vide AHQ letter No B/45751/AWES dt 25 Feb 04.
 
CBSE has also issued similar instructions vide their letter No Admn/I/14(34)/2001/1382-4631 dt 09 Aug 2001.
 
Wards of Non BC Cases / ESM.
 
Education scholarship is entitled to the wards of ex-servicemen / widows @ Rs 1000/- per child p.m for school level and Rs 15000/- p.a for Graduation through Rajya Sainik Board in term of Kendriya Sainik Board letter No 119/FSB/RMDF/B/2011 dt 17 Nov 2011. (A serving soldier is entitled to CEA @ Rs 1250/- per child per month).
 
In order to create awareness about all above benefits / scholarships amongst environment :-
 
Same explained by HQ AWES to the Principals who attended workshops at FDRC during 2012-13.Letter also mailed to all fmn’s AWES Cells, Army Public Schools & Colleges twice.In addition, the same forming part of School Diary.
Kendriya Sainik Board has also issued leaflets & posters listing benefits incl scholarships to Rajya / Zila Sainik Boards.
 
CEA also given to ESM by ZSB / KSB as mentioned above. Sufficient funds available with KSB for same.
 
Fmn / Veterans’ Cell at Fmn HQ to assist widow claim entitlement.
 
Needs special attn to create awareness amongst serving & retiring pers.
