TIFR has announced Graduate School Admissions (GS-2025) for PhD, Integrated PhD and MSc Progarmms in Mid September 2025.
Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), India’s premier institution for advanced research in fundamental sciences, will release the notification for Graduate School Admissions (GS-2025) for PhD, Integrated PhD and MSc Progarmms in Mid September 2025.
TIFR will conduct Entrance Test for Graduate School Admissions (GS-2025) for PhD, Integrated PhD and MSc Progarmms.
The application portal for GS-2025 will open soon (any time in mid September 2024).

TIFR is an autonomous Research Institute under the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India. It is also a “Deemed-to-be University” recognized by the University Grants Commission, offering PhD and Integrated MSc-PhD programs in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Computer Science & Learning, Information and Data Science, Science Education, and an MSc program in Wildlife Biology and Conservation.
Fellowships:
PhD
Students receive a monthly fellowship of Rs 37,000 (+ hostel accommodation OR HRA as applicable) enhanced to Rs 42,000 after registration.
I-PhD
Students receive a monthly fellowship of Rs 21,000 for the first year. At the end of the first year, upon satisfactory performance, the fellowship is enhanced to Rs 37,000 per month (further raised to Rs 42,000 after registration for PhD). If a student takes the MSc exit option, then the fellowship for the 3rd year is reduced to the 1st year amount.
