IISER Bhopal PhD Science subjects Applications Open: 2024

This is your chance to apply for PhD Science in IISER B.

The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Bhopal, designated as an Institute of National Importance, has announced the availability of PhD programs for the January Semester of 2024. All candidates who are selected will be entitled to receive a JRF fellowship in accordance with the current funding agency regulations.

Here are the important dates: The deadline for submitting online applications is October 16, 2023.

At present, the Institute offers PhD programs in various fields, including:

1. Biological Sciences
2. Chemical Engineering
3. Chemistry
4. Data Science and Engineering
5. Earth and Environmental Sciences
6. Economic Sciences
7. Electrical Engineering & Computer Science
8. Humanities and Social Sciences (English, Sociology/Social Anthropology, Science and Technology Studies, and Philosophy)
9. Mathematics
10. Physics

Regarding age eligibility, candidates should preferably be under 28 years of age. However, there is an age relaxation of 3 years for OBC (Non Creamy Layer) and 5 years for SC/ST/PD/Female applicants.

The upper age limit is determined based on the last date of online application submission. The Institute accepts the date of birth recorded in the Matriculation/Secondary Examination Certificate/Aadhar Card as the official date of birth for age verification.

For those interested in the Biological Sciences program, here are the eligibility conditions:

Minimum Qualification:

• A B.Sc./M.Tech. or an equivalent degree in the relevant discipline with a minimum of 60% marks or a CGPA/CPI of 7.0 on a 10-point scale (considering overall percentage/CGPA/CPI, not just in the majoring subject).
• Candidates with an M.Sc./M.Tech. or equivalent degree in Physics, Chemistry, or Mathematics are also eligible to apply, provided they demonstrate an aptitude for research in Biological Sciences.
• Exceptionally talented candidates with B.Tech./MBBS/MCA qualifications can also apply for the PhD program in Biological Sciences.
