The Children’s Prize Foundation was created with a maverick spirit and a simple yet ambitious goal: to advance child health and survival by insisting on impact and data-driven rigor, while leading the way for a modern day philanthropic prize movement. Every solution begins with a problem. Our problem is rooted in an uncertainty that money being spent is not directly solving what one hopes to solve. This is not an isolated experience, but a reflection of a growing public unease about the philanthropic sector in general.
About the Grant
Globally, over 14,000 children under the age of five die every day. The Children’s Prize is an open online competition with a mission to advance child health and survival by insisting on impact and data-driven interventions. The first-round runs from June 20th to July 31st, 2022 and is open to individuals and organizations globally. The Prize administrators search for an impactful project that aligns with the Foundation’s goals, has a measured reduction in child mortality, and significant experience in the field. Selected applicants will be invited to participate in a second round in September and the winner will be announced in December. The winner will have the opportunity to enter into a $150,000 grant agreement.
Since 2013, the Children’s Prize has awarded over $2,000,000 to life-saving interventions across the globe.
Eligibility
The Children’s Prize is available to anyone. Proposals will be accepted from non-profits (charities), for profits (companies), government programs, academic institutions, and individuals aged 18 years or older. However, the prize funds may only be used for charitable purposes, as specified in the contest goals.
