Sun Pharma Science Foundation Science Scholar Fellowships

The Sun Pharma Science Foundation Science Scholar Fellowships-2024 is an esteemed scholarship sponsored by the Sun Pharma Science Foundation. This fellowship is exclusively available to Indian nationals conducting their research in India. Heads of Research Institutions, Universities, Medical and Pharmaceutical Colleges in India are invited to nominate young scientists for these fellowships.

Fellowship Details

There are four Science Scholar Fellowships, with two each in Biomedical and Pharmaceutical Sciences. The last date to apply for the fellowship is 31st August 2024.

Objectives

The fellowship aims to:

• Support the new generation of brilliant scientists and researchers in India.
• Provide further impetus to research activities in the country.
• Stimulate interest in research careers in Bio-Medical and Pharmaceutical Sciences.

Fellowship Benefits

• Number of Fellowships: Four (two in Biomedical Sciences, two in Pharmaceutical Sciences)
• Value: ₹50,000 for each fellowship, plus an additional ₹50,000 for attending an international conference to present their abstracts/posters.
• Additional Amount Conditions: Submission of an invitation letter from the conference organizing committee and expense details with documentary proof to the Foundation’s office.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the Sun Pharma Science Foundation Science Scholar Fellowship, candidates must:

1. Be Indian nationals conducting their research in India.
2. Be less than 30 years old as of July 01, 2024.
3. Have completed at least the first year of MD or PhD in Biomedical or Pharmaceutical Sciences. Candidates who have already completed their MD or PhD are not eligible.
4. Have completed a research project.
5. Be from disciplines related to Biomedical and Pharmaceutical Sciences.
6. Be willing to present their research work in front of knowledgeable assessors.

Application Process

Interested candidates can apply online through the Sun Pharma Science Foundation website from July 01, 2024 to August 31, 2024. The following documents must be uploaded:

1. Detailed CV with a photograph.
2. Research work including:
   • Title
   • Introduction
   • Objectives
   • Material and Methods
   • Results
   • Statistical Analysis
   • Discussion
   • Impact of the research on the advancement of knowledge or benefit to mankind
   • Literature references
3. A letter from the supervisor certifying the authenticity of the research work and a citation about the applicant’s research.
4. A forwarding letter from the Head of Department or Institution justifying the nomination.
5. A voluntary declaration to work in public or private funded academic/research organizations for at least two years after completing studies.
6. Indication of the category of the Fellowship (Biomedical Sciences or Pharmaceutical Sciences).
7. A letter stating that the project has received “Ethical Clearance” from the concerned authorities.
8. A statement signed by the nominee and the supervisor/co-authors ensuring “no conflict of interest” with the submitted thesis.

Responsibilities of Science Scholars

• No claim of any sort with Sun Pharma Science Foundation or Sun Pharma group of companies.
• A voluntary declaration to work in public or private funded academic/research organizations for at least two years after completing studies.
• Keeping the Foundation informed about their achievements periodically.
