TOEFL India Scholarship for Graduates and Undergraduates

The TOEFL India Championship Scholarship for Graduates and Undergraduates is an opportunity for students looking for higher education abroad.

• Be a 3rd or 4th year college student in an undergraduate degree program at an accredited Indian Higher Education Institution.

The TOEFL India Championship offers cash prizes totaling ₹4 lacs, with various rewards for top performers in each category.

What is the format of the quiz?

Round 1 quiz comprises 12 questions (6 verbal and 6 quantitative), to be completed within a span of 20 minutes.

What are the prizes?

There are exciting prizes for the quiz winners in Round 1 and for the TOEFL iBT test takers in Round 2. Here are the details:

1. Cash Prizes for Round 1: A total of ₹4 lacs will be distributed amongst the winners in the following manner:
   • 1st Place (1 winner): ₹50,000
   • 2nd Place (2 winners): ₹40,000 each
   • 3rd Place (3 winners): ₹30,000 each
   • 1st Runner Up (4 winners): ₹20,000 each
   • 2nd Runner Up (10 winners): ₹10,000 each
2. Grand Prizes for Round 2: The participants who complete Round 1 and further score a minimum of 75 marks in the TOEFL iBT® exam shall be eligible to win the Grand Prizes of a total ₹11 lacs in the following manner:
   • 1st Place (1 winner): ₹2,50,000
   • 2nd Place (2 winners): ₹2,00,000 each
   • 3rd Place (3 winners): ₹1,50,000 each

When will I know if I have won and how will I receive the prize money?

• Winners for Round 1 of the contest will be announced within 15 days, and prize money will be distributed within 30 days of concluding Round 1. For Round 2, the winner will be declared within 30 days. However, prize money will be disbursed within 15 days of receiving all necessary documents, including the admission offer from a foreign university and valid ID proof, among other details. It’s important to note that requests for the grand prize will not be entertained if the documents are not received by the last date communicated by ETS India for document submission.
• ETS India will disburse the Cash Prize for Round 1 and/or the Grand Prize for Round 2, in Indian Rupees (INR) only. The prize money will be directly transferred to the winner’s designated bank account, as provided in advance (through a cancelled cheque), by the winner in writing through an email to ETS India at register4toefl@etsindia.org. How do I participate in Round 2 to qualify for the grand prizes?

To qualify for Round 2, you must fulfill two key criteria:

1. Take the TOEFL iBT® test: Register for the TOEFL iBT test using the following link: https://www.ets.org/toefl/test-takers/ibt/schedule.html
2. Apply for Round 2: After completing the TOEFL iBT test, proceed to the official registration page for Round 2 of the TOEFL India Championship: https://www.etsindia.org/toefl-india-championship/registration-round2. There, submit the required details to finalize your application.

The selection criteria for the cash prizes in Round 1, totaling ₹4 lakhs, will be based solely on the scores achieved in the designated Round 1 quiz.

The selection of the grand prizes for Round 2, totaling ₹11 lakhs, will be based on the scores achieved in the TOEFL iBT test. This includes both the overall score and individual section scores across Reading, Listening, Speaking, and Writing in the event of a tie in the overall score.
